Eesti Laul 2017 Final - Our Afterthoughts

Today was finally the day that the song to represent Estonia in Eurovision was chosen and the song that will go to Eurovision is: Koit Toome and Laura - Verona

The order was:

10. Elina Born

9. Daniel Levi

8. Lenna Kuurmaa

7. Liis Lemsalu

6. Ariadne

5. Ivo Linna

4. Whogaux & Karl-Kristjan feat Maian

The three that got to the second round were:

Kerli

Koit Toome and Laura

Rasmus Rändvee

There was a second round of voting after which the top three was:

3. Rasmus Rändvee

2. Kerli

1. Koit Toome and Laura

We obviously watched the entire show and just wanted to give some thoughts that we had in terms of the performances, vocals, who we would've sent to Eurovision and so on, so let's just get into it.

The general look of the show was much better than it was during the semis, as was expected. I feel like all of the performances had individually gotten better as well. The quality and level of the songs and performances was rather equal among most of the songs and it was very difficult to predict who would win or do the best in Eurovision.

We personally would've been happy if either Lenna, Kerli, Rasmus or Elina would've won. 

All of the vocals sounded much better than in the semis, the best ones were still probably Laura, Rasmus and Koit's high notes are definitely impressive.

I liked the touches they had added to their performances, like Lenna flying around and generally everyone looked a lot more comfortable on stage than they did during the semis, so I enjoyed the entire show very much, although I didn't love all of the songs.

I hope we'll do well do well in Eurovision, but I guess only time will tell.

Our next Eurovision top will be up soon as well, some rather good songs have been chosen, so stay tuned for that!
