New Vegan Ice Creams! (Oatly, Choice, Alpro)

Summer is nearing and with that, the season of ice cream is as well. There are so many new flavours coming out and have come out already, we have tried four new vegan ice creams, two from Oatly, one from Choice and one from Alpro and here is what we thought of them.

Let's start with the Choice. There aren't a lot of flavours from Choice available here in Estonia, but this Summer they did bring in a new one called Coconut with Passion Fruit Twist. It was a very interesting, slightly tropical flavour. It was creamy and had a very pleasant texture, if you enjoy coconut, then you'll most likely like this as well. It was good and the price was reasonable for the amount given, but I personally still miss their raspberry ice cream, which unfortunately is no longer available here. I definitely am happy that there are new flavours available here though.

Alpro brought their Hazelnut and Chocolate ice cream to our stores as well, they actually also brought their vanilla ice cream, but we have yet to try it out. The Chocolate Hazelnut combo was very good, it works well, not too sweet, it's creamy, melts well, no weird aftertastes nor textures. Alpro knows how to make dairy-like products without dairy, so kudos to them.

Now the two Oatly ice creams that we got to try out. They still have their old strawberry, chocolate and vanilla ice creams, just in a new packaging, but there are also two more fancy ice cream flavours. First one is salted caramel and hazelnut, which at first bite was simply heavenly, it tastes out of this world, so so good, but it has one downside, after eating a little bit of it, a layer of what feels like coconut oil gets stuck on the roof of the mouth, which takes away from the experience a bit, if eaten alongside another ice cream, it is not that noticeable, but alone, it's definitely a little bit unpleasant.

The other Oatly ice cream we tried out was their new double chocolate ice cream, also heavenly at first bite and second and third all the way to the end of the tub, could never tell that no dairy was used in the making of it, it's smooth, delicious, chocolatey, velvety, absolute perfection, but definitely not good for my wallet nor my waistline. Either way, it was our favourite of the bunch. Also, we loved the design, it's so unique and fun. Plus points for that.
