What to give your cat for Christmas?

It's this special time of the year, where giving back to those we care about becomes of great importance, therefore we should also think about our fourlegged friends, who are beside us in good and in bad. Obviously I'm talking about pets, both me and Kai have cats, so we thought it'd be appropriate to talk about Christmas gifts for your cat.

Cats are tricky little, or sometimes not so little, creatures, they might like one thing and all of a sudden not like it anymore, therefore buying them gifts is a complicated task. You also can't really ask them what they want, because they tend to not answer, so your only chance is to buy them or make them something you believe would make them happy.

Here are a few options: if you have a younger cat or an older, but playful cat, then you can get him/her a toy, maybe something festive or just cute or something that you'd see him/her playing with, if your cat is like my cat, who walks by a toy and thinks that you're just being silly jumping around with a fake mouse, then treats will most likely be your best bet, if you've known your cat for a while, then you know which flavours he/she prefers and you can choose depending on that. A safer bet would be something meat based, rather than dry treats, but it really depends on the cat. Obviously you could also buy a gourmet meal and offer that to your cat, I'm sure that would make your cat happy.

There are also some cats that are more open to different gift options, some might like clothes for example, or if you want to go all out, you could get your cat a new nest or build a house even, I think those would be nice ideas as well.

However, whatever you get your cat for Christmas, don't forget to give him or her as much love and care as you possibly can.

 Also if it is in your possibility then do adopt a cat, all of the little kitties I've met at the cat shelter that we volunteer at, are the sweetest little things, all they need is a caring home, where they could feel safe and start trusting people again, so they could live a long happy life with you.
