Our Guide to Vegan Ice Creams Part 2

The Summer is nearing it's end, but we still haven't had enough ice cream, so we thought we'd be back with another vegan ice cream guide. This time we'll talk about larger ice creams, ones you can eat an entire tub of. We'll start with the more affordable ones and there'll be another blog post about the more expensie luxury ice creams. All of them are plant-based, so there's no dairy in them. Let's begin.

I'll start with ice creams from Oatly, there are three flavours: vamilla, chocolate and strawberry. 

They all got the same rating from me and Kai, so I'll take them as a whole.

• oat based

Comments: as you can guess by our ratings all three flavours are really really good and fairly affordable for the vegan ice cream market. It's very creamy, desn't melt too fast and tastes simply amazing. It's made out of oats as well, so it's basically a porridge :)







Choice strwaberry ice cream.

Comments: the ice cream is nice and soft, it's rather smooth, but the only problem that I have with it is the strawberry jelly like thing they put inside the ice cream to add the extra strawberriness, it tastes good, but I personally was not a fan of the texture it had. Otherwise a good ice cream

Choice Chocolate ice cream

• Taste: 7,75/10
• Consistency: 9/10
• Packaging: 8,5/10
• Allaround score: 8,3

Comments: this one is quite similar to the previous, but it's smoother in texture, as with some other soy based chocolate ice creams, it tastes a bit different and I don't know what causes it, it almost tastes a bit nutty, whether you like it or not, depends on the person.

Choice Raspberry ice cream

• Taste: 8,75/10
• Consistency: 9/10
• Packaging: 8,5/10
• Allaround score: 8,6

Comments: This is clearly our favourite of the Choice ice creams we have mentioned, it's smooth and creamy and tastes very very good, it's rather sweet, but a nice type of sweet, unfortunately we haven't been able to find it in any of the shops we used to buy it from, I hope they will restock though.

Granarolo hazelnut ice cream

• soy based
• 400 ml
• available in stores: Solaris
• Price: 8/10
• Taste: 7,5/10
• Consistency: 9/10
• Packaging: 7,5/10
• Allaround score: 7,8

Comments: the ice cream itself is rather good, not too expensive, smooth and tasty, but a little too sweet for our liking, I couldn't eat an entire tup in one sitting, although, let's face it, I shouldn't do that anyway.
