First Advent Sunday

A start to the holiday season

It's finally first of the four Advent Sundays, which means that it's the official start of the holiday season. It's clearly no secret, that we are huge fans of the Christmas time. We've already got all gifts bought and packed, we have a Christmas party planned and decorations up.

This morning we woke up with much excitement and joy. We left gifts for our neighbours and eachother to find in the morning and lit a candle. We had decorated our little Christmas tree already the evening before and it all looked very cosy and festive.

I think the Christmas season is the perfect time to thank all the people in our lives that we care about and who make our lives a little bit brighter every day. I'm sure all those people know that they play a big part in our lives, no matter how near or far they might be and I definitely hope that our paths will cross soon again. Christmas is the perfect time for that to happen, since people get together and exchange gifts and good wishes.

It's definitely a very busy time at school, since it is nearing to the end of semester, but I think it's nice to take some time off every once in a while, so why not let it be on the First Advent. We celebrated the first Advent Sunday together in our little dorm room and just had some lemonade and chocolate. It was nice and symbolic (and delicious).
