Halloween Nails: Bloody Striped Nails

Happy Halloween, today we're here with the last one of our Halloween nails series. Kai picked out these ones in particular and it's a very cute and at the same a bit of a scary design, it has a base of black and white stripes and the blood is dripping down from the cuticles.

As usual I began with a coat of protective clear base coat, then I painted the nails white, you could also begin with black or any other colour of your choice, but we went with white, the stripes were black and there's not much science behind drawing stripes, you can draw them freehand with a striping or a detailed brush or use nail tape instead, either way you will get stripes as a result. You can also use either nail polish or acrylic paint, both work well.

Then once the background of the stripes had dried, I drew the blood with dark red, I simply tried to create drops of it and make it look as if their on their way to the tip of the nail, it took me a few tries to get the exact techinque, so you can practice on a piece of paper or plastic beforehand.

Lastly I added a bit of dimension to the droplets, by adding some white to the highpoints of the drops, then I finished everything off with a fast drying top coat and ready it was.
