Les Revenants

Hello :)

We're here today with a TV series review again, because we have nothing better to do with our lives, other than watch one tv show after another, but we're not complaining, since it gives us the chance to dive into different stories and worlds of unimaginative things, today we're here to talk about Les Revenants or The Returned in English. It's a series we just recently started watching, but liked it right away.

As most of you could probably guess it's a French TV series. It actually aired already in 2012, but we just recently heard about it and were instantly intrigued. It's a bit like a zombie story, since dead people come back to life, only it's completly different, since the people who suddenly are alive again, aren't brainhunting creatures, but people just like any other, they simply continue on with their lives where they left off.

The show follows the story of quite a few people, who come back and have no idea what has happened to them, they try to find the people they know and somehow make sense of the situation. All of the people who come back to life are from the same little town and as they start reappearing, other strange things also start happening in the town.

We both find it very interesting, although at times we'd like to know faster what exactly is going on and what will happen next, however I feel like that's what makes you wanting to watch it on and on. The entire show is obvioulsy in French, but it's very easy to find it online with subtitles as well, since the show has been on TV at various countries. Also the fact that it was in French and not in a language familiar to either of us, made us pay more attention to what exactly is going on and definitely didn't bother us.

The characters are also all very interesting and imperfect, which makes them more human and more interesting to watch. There are a lot of unexpected stories that unfold and it's simply a very well made, everything from start to finish looks and feels professional. It's a bit of a horror/drama/supernatural/mystery type of series, which we think all Stranger Things fans would love.

All in all, we recommend all to watch it, since it truly is worth it.
