Eurovision 2016 our top 22 (28.02.16)

Hello :)

It's time for another Eurovision top, this time for the 22 songs that have been chosen. As usual me and Kai both gave points to all songs and according to those points I bring to you our top.

22. Georgia

Unfortunately this song isn't quite our cup of tea, at parts it does sound ok, but I feel like at others it had a bit too strong of a technological sound to it, if that makes any sense, so that's why it got last place at the moment from us.

21. Austria

The song is sweet and cute, but just not something that we'd enjoy very much. Maybe it'll grow on us, but for the time being, it's not that high on our top.

20. Bosnia & Herzogovina

With this song, we didn't quite know how to feel, it has a few different sounds mixed together, while I think it's great that they're singing in their native language and the song is not bad by any means, I just don't find myself wanting to listen to it again.

19. Ukraine

This song was quite a difficult one to position, we do support the message behind the song, but the performance and song itself left us a little unsure, I'm not very fond of the singer's voice and without actually reading the lyrics it's also near impossible to understand the message.

17. - 18. Slovenia

This song is a nice Eurovision pop song, the lyrics are a bit weak at parts, but it's well sung. It seems ok at first listen, but not very memorable.

17. - 18. Albania

This song has been in our top for so long, it was one of the first one's to be chosen. It's still a beautiful song with great melody and very well sung, but it hasn't grown on us much.

16. UK

We actually watched the UK final and they didn't have a big standout song, they were all about the same level, so it was rather difficult to guess, who would win. It wasn't our favourite, but it's an upbeat catchy song, definitely better than their last year's choice.

13. - 15.  Belarus

This song is just more pleasant for me to listen to than the previous ones, I don't know why, the live performance isn't the strongest, but in general I like the song and hope it'll do well.

13. - 15. Moldova

We haven't had many listens to this song yet, so it's difficult to say for sure, wether we like it or not. It's a good ballad and she sings it well, but for now, we couldn't place it any higher.

13. - 15. Denmark

It's quite a typical Eurovision pop song, you could say. They sound well together and have great energy on stage, we'll see if they remain so high up, but for now they're here.

12. Malta

Another beutiful ballad, well sung and performed, but after listening to it quite a few times now it still doesn't make me very excited about it. Kai on the other hand seems to be more fond of it, that's how it reached rather high on our top.

11. Belgium

This song isn't very good live either, but I love the feel good vibes of it, it's fun and enjoyable and full of energy.

10. Finland

We had another favourite from the Finnish preselection, for that reason I'm not so excited about this song. It's good, but we really really liked Mikaeli Saari - On it goes, would'ev been in our top 5 for sure, if you wish to listen to it, it's linked HERE
About this song though, it's very upbeat and fun and she definitely has very good vocals, love her voice.

9. Ireland

I still enjoy the Irish song very much and do wonder if it was performed by another country, would it be more popular among Eurovision fans? I don't know, but I think it's a nice song and he can perform it well live.

8. Hungary

I've only had one listen to this song, so far, but it's definitely a strong song and he has amazing shades to his voice, love it.

7. Norway

We also watched the Norwegian final and it was among some of my favourites, she sings it well, the only thing is that the song changes in tempo a lot, the verse is very slow and chorus more memorable, still a very good song, though.

6. Cyprus

The song has a very different sound compared to most songs in this year's competition and we liked it from the first listen.

5. Switzerland

This song we liked from first listen as well and the song and especially the lyric video give a bit of a Sia vibe. We like it and definitely enjoy listening to it. At parts, though, Kai pointed out that her voice sounds a bit too sharp, but during the live performances it sounded much better.

4. Germany

It's a very beautiful song, I'm happy that it won the German preselection, it was the best song in my opinion, she sings it well and it's very catchy.

3. Iceland

This song has a slightly mystical sound to it, it's interesting to watch since the performance along with the shadows and lighting was very good.  It also has an Icelandic version, but this time we liked the English version more.

2. Italy

Another beautiful very well sung song, I like the sound of Italian and the entire performance together was just very good in quality and enjoyable. I've heard that they might change this song or choose a completly new one for her to sing, I hope it'll be equally as good then, since we really like this one.

1. Spain

Spain remains as our favourite, it's a great song, with an amazing feel to it and we still love it, we don't even mind the dance moves. :)

Next top will be up soon, since so many songs are being chosen in the nearing week, so stay tuned.
Kaiela :)
